Halloween at Trentham Gardens

We went to Trentham Gardens to see what they had going on for Halloween.

Halloween week has also been half-term week, so Trentham Gardens dedicated the whole week to celebrating Halloween. We went along on the day of Halloween itself to check out what was going on.

The pumpkin trail had professionally carved pumpkins along it, which were absolutely brilliant - I would love to have those kind of skills! One of the pumpkins reminded me of a particularly grumpy family member, which amused me 🤣

There was also a selfie trail, where you could strike a pose with different props. John modelled some of those for us!

There were lots of cobwebs, skeletons and giant eyeballs around too, to add to the overall Halloween look and feel. The giant spider would have me running for the hills if I saw one of that size in my bathroom!

If you had children with you, there was also a Witches and Wizards school where completing magical tasks would earn them a graduation certificate. There was a pantomime too - I've not come across a pantomime before outside of Christmas. Unfortunately, we found it to be a little too quiet, so it was difficult to follow what was going on. Music was provided on stage by the Sanderson Sisters and KPop Demon Hunters Mira & Zoey. Where we found the panto too quiet, we found the music too loud. There were also fairground rides and face painter too, so you too could get the Halloween look 🎃

I was pleased to see that a quiet area was provided for those people who may have found everything a bit overwhelming, so there was somewhere they could go to regroup. The sign that showed where the quiet area was, was in keeping with the Halloween theme.

It wasn't the warmest of days, so we went to get the obligatory hot chocolate. At the side of the path on the way to the kiosk where you can buy hot chocolate, were a series of "gravestones" with really corny inscriptions on them. In a way, they were kind of reminiscent of the corny inscriptions on the headstones if you're going on the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney.

Overall, there was plenty to look at, even if you didn't have any children with you, and we enjoyed the time that we spent there. The Halloween event ends on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
