Disney outside London?
Our trip to look at Disney merch at Selfridges, Trafford Centre didn't work out as we planned!

As you will know, if you're a Disney fan, there are no longer any Disney Stores in the UK apart from in London. This is why we were thrilled to hear that Disney had partnered up with Selfridges to bring Disney merch to Selfridges stores outside of London. Officially they are partnered from 6 November for Christmas, but they have some stores partnering up before then to sell Disney theme park merch. The Selfridges at the Trafford Centre started their partnership on 29 September, so we decided to go along.
George and I made a bet with John that he wouldn't leave Selfridges without having bought any Disney merch. George and I both lost! I think we were all expecting something slightly bigger than what we actually saw, so we were all a bit disappointed. The actual Disney part is on the first floor - follow the signs for "Toys". There were different plushies, pins and some Christmas items, which left us all feeling a bit underwhelmed to be perfectly honest. John was actually hoping to lose our bet, but there wasn't anything there that any of us really wanted to buy.

The emphasis on Christmas slightly annoyed me, as I kept muttering about it being September! John loved it as he loves Christmas and counts down to it from Boxing Day! George was enjoying teasing me about getting some ornaments for the Christmas tree! They did have a Christmas tree up, which turned, so you could see the plushies on it!

After we left Selfridges, we decided to pop into the Apple Store. John and I both have Apple Watches, which are quite ancient in technology terms, so we decided to have a look at the new Apple Watches. We both decided to get new ones and we were asked if we'd like to trade our old ones in. Unfortunately, our watches were so ancient that their trade-in value was £0!
John spent some time asking if we could get a discount if he gave them all a hug or did different impressions, but obviously this didn't work! We spent some time setting the new watches up. John kept asking how the information off the old watch would make it to the new watch, and I kept repeatedly telling him that the information was on his phone. I chose a new watch strap that was the colour purple fog, which kind of summed up how my brain was feeling after constantly explaining about watch information being on his phone, to John!
After we left the Apple Store, we decided to go to the Lego Store, which is nearby at the Trafford Centre. I like seeing what large Lego items they have on display at the front. This time was a large Nike shoe.

Going into this Lego Store was a first for me. Not the first time I'd been in it, but the first time I'd been in it and not bought anything! I think if John and George had placed bets on that, they'd have also lost!
It was coming up to lunchtime at this point, so we thought we'd go to Pizza Hut. We've not been in ages and we weren't impressed. You have to order at the table now, there is no-one who comes and takes your order anymore. It was really expensive and, because you have to order online, you have to pay before you receive your order. Fortunately for us, I kept getting a message that they were unable to verify my card, so we gave up and left.
We ended up going to McDonalds instead. It's not the best food but we got enough to fill the three of us, and it cost £30 less than it would have done at Pizza Hut. My card also worked properly at McDonalds too, so I don't know why it wouldn't at Pizza Hut. I'm glad it didn't though, as it saved me £30!
In short, if you're going to Selfridges to see the Disney stuff, be prepared for the actual Disney area to be quite small.
